May Stamp of the Month "Be Yourself" Swap

Here's a card (one of five) I'm making for Jen Dawson's swap. I signed up for note cards and matching envelopes. This one is using the May SOTM "Be Yourself", Emporium level 2 paper, bamboo cardstock, cocoa ribbon, misc. brown brads, chocolate and twilight inks. The sentiment on the card reads "One of a kind". On the envelope, I used Connections stamp, chocolate, vineyard berry, honey and twilight ink. The flap on the back has one of the connections circles and a quote from the May stamp. Leave some feedback for me! :-)

As I said, this is just one of five I am making. I thought I would also do Stardust, Unforgettable, Tickled Pink, and Simple Pleasures. Hopefully, I'll get to work on those tonight and tomorrw. My oldest nephew, Tyler, is a senior and his graduation is on June 12. I am taking him to Narramore Photography this evening for portraits at Bad Branch Falls. I'm excited to see what Trey has planned for Tyler's portraits!

Round 2 of Amber Trubiak's Swap

Since there are only eight days of school left until my summer break, I am finding just a little bit more time to be creating. Summer Break, all you teachers shout out "YIPEEEEEE". I know that I can't wait! It feels really great to come home and relax with some paper, stamps, and inks knowing that there are not seventy tests to score and record. It has been a great school year, however, SUMMER is calling me.....

I had entered two rounds of Amber's black, white, and pop of color swap. Here is my second round card. To change it up just a little, I used one of the round cards from Wishes. The base of the card is black. I random stamped the Tickled Pink flowers and (D1191) Friendship Blessing flowers and sentiment on the white daisy circle. Instead of using honey cardstock on the cover of the card, I decided to go with honey ink. I like the outcome. Oh, I almost forgot the little black ribbon. I am addicted to ribbon. It seems everything I do has ribbon on it somewhere! Wonder what that means? Hmmmmm....

For the inside of the card, I used honey cardstock and the Friendship Blessings flower. The sentiment used here is (D1306) Treasure Life. Let me know what you think!

Amber Trubiak's Black & White Swap~CTMH

I am in Amber Trubiak's black & white with a pop of color swap at CTMH. I chose to use honey as my color. I kind of had the idea of doing something with a daisy when I chose this challenge. This is the end product. The final size of the card is 4 X 51/4. I used White Daisy, Black, and Honey cardstocks. The only ink I used was black. I used (D1204) Delight in Everything (daisy on front) stamp and (D1154) Love in Bloom (Seize the Daisy) and inside daisy. I used a button from the summer (z1282) collection. It is sunny yellow. It really doesn't look lighter than the honey. I tied a little piece of white floss inside the button. The ribbon is from (Z1034) Black Collection. Just to add something to the inside, I placed a piece of honey cardstock with a white daisy. It is ready for whatever message it will send. Leave a comment with your thoughts or suggestions. I entered two rounds of this swap, so now I am off to create another black, white and honey. Thanks for looking!

"Thank You"

I needed to make a special "Thank You" card for a parent in my classroom. We have just completed our end of the year accountability testing (CATS). This parent owns a local business. She and her husband donated breakfast for every student testing for two weeks. I used Emporium level two pp, cocoa, twilight, vineyard berry inks. The flowers are dimensional shapes and the yellow flower is Just Blooms inked in Honey with a pewter brad in the middle. The ribbon is vineyard berry organdy from long ago. The stamps are For Every Occasion (Thank You) and Friendship Blessing (stems and leaves). The inspiration for this card came from Wishes: All tucked in. Let me know what you think! Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday #86

This is my take on the Mojo Monday week 86 card. The finised size is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2. I used the new Tickled Pink CTMH kit to create this card. The flowers are white daisy cardstock die-cuts from the kit. The outer flowers are stamped with hollyhock and edged with sweet leaf. The innner flowers are stamped in sweet leaf with a hollyhock center. I added just a little prisma glitter for some 'bling' to the stamped flowers. The stems and leaves are in sweet leaf. This was a fun card to make. Let me know what you think! Thanks for looking!

My darling Honeybee is a "Wish Come True". I decided to give him a card for his bday telling him just that! I used Stardust pp, level 2 stickease, moonstruck ink, extreme caps stamps, honey cardstock and ink. Happy Birthday Ben, I love you!

This one is for my aunt. She is very special to me, just like a mother. This card is just a little more elegant but simple to make. I used That's Amore pp, cocoa ink, hollyhock ribbon.

This card is for both my mom and my mother-in-law. Here's the receipe...Daydream paper pack, Simple Beauty stamps, amethyst ink, citrus leaf organdy ribbon. The quote on the inside is also stamped in amethyst. I used my craft knife and sliced the card at the bottom of each side of the pink square, I pulled the ribbon through, and used a pink jump ring to attach an acrylic tag. Fun, Fun, Fun card to make.

A day to CELEBRATE!

Today, I am celebrating both Mother's Day and my Honeybee's birthday! I am so very fortunate to have my Grandmother, mom, aunt (feels just like my mother), and my mother-in-law to honor today. I had fun making their cards. The inspiration for them came from the new idea book, Wishes. This card is for my Grandmother. She loves the beautiful outdoors and her flowers. I used Unforgettable pp, Simple Beauty stamp, pewter brad, juniper and sorbet markers, blending pen, heat embossing for the butterfly, cocoa ink and ribbon.
