Yahoo, I got some time this morning to play with the Dollies! I combined all three challenges for this week. First I loved that wonderful sketch by Kristy, then the colors were monochromatic blue, and the element was birthday! This just came together!

Sweet Friend Award .....

Good Morning,
I hope you are all safe and warm this morning. Our snow finally stopped at about 9 inches. The sun is shining brightly this morning, but it is only 20 degrees.
This morning I am sharing the Sweet Friend Award again. I was given this award last week by my scrapping girlfriend Sandi. I passed that one on to three "knock your socks off scrappers", Brenda, Laurel, and Mona. Later in the week, I had received it from Kym, Micki, and Dawn. I am so very honored that you ladies would think of me for this award...right back at you! So this morning, I am passing it on again. I know I'm changing the rules a little, but I received it three times and I'm sending to 4 people for each time. Just call me a cheat.
Here's the rules for this one. Accept the award from the Sweet Friend (s) that sent it to you, thank her in your post and pass it on to bloggers whose creativity knock your socks off. Then reveal 10 things about yourself.
So here is my list this time...cheating I know :)....and in no particular order....
2. Dar
3. Teri
10. Erika
And now my list of 10 things. Today I'm sharing my top ten of this last week and weekend. We've had so much excitement and fun.
1. My beautiful niece, Ashlea, was crowned Fourth Grade Homecoming Princess (Thursday)
2. I had a snow day on Friday.....what teacher doesn't love snow days!
3. I went to pick up the Little Kids on Friday and we've been together all weekend! Love it!!!
4. It began snowing on Friday and we have 9 inches now.
5. The kids, my sister, and I played in the pouring snow yesterday....so much fun!
6. We've had a snugly warm fire the entire weekend!
7. We all gathered at my Gran's yesterday for a delicious family dinner.
8. The Wildcats won again yesterday.
9. My little man, who is 5, had two loose teeth (bottom) and he would only let his Nee Nee pull them. His reasoning..."She's a teacher and does it to her kids all the time!" He lost both bottom teeth within two hours last night.
10. The tooth fairy came to visit him while at his Nee Nee's house. He's a happy boy this morning!
Have a very Blessed Day!

Valentine....

Good Morning,
We have a fun new sketch up at Practical Scrappers this morning.
I love this sketch, my page just came together. I've used up that stash of My Mind's Eye papers that I've had forever. These photos are a couple years ago, but worked with the paper perfectly. AND what about the "Honey be mine?" You know since I call Ben my Honeybee, he loved that. I used foam dots to give dimension to the hearts, the little cupid, as well as the title.
So, if you are like me, and you find yourself being snowed in today, pull out some papers and see what inspiration this gives you. Be sure to post it to the Mr. Linky at Practical Scrappers.

Humble Pie, Frosted Designs, and Royalty...

Good Afternoon!
This post is serving three different ones for today. I was totally MIA yesterday, as it was a very hectic day at school. The "Big Wigs" were visiting us all day, observing and interviewing teachers and students. This was a very stressful day and week leading up to "the visit". Now we await the review results....
When school was over, we drove an hour away to Ashlea's school. She was representing her fourth grade class in Homecoming Court. At her school, one representative from 4-7 grade is crowned Princess and the Queen is chose from the eighth grade representatives. It is my great pleasure to announce the 2010 Fourth Grade Homecoming Princess....Miss Ashlea Little, my gorgeous niece! I'm so proud of her!

This first card is my weekly DT card at Humble Pie. This week we are using at least 5 flowers on our cards. I had this beautiful My Mind's Eye paper left on my table from the weekend. I wanted to use the scraps and this is what came out. I used the lovely Flower Maggie, colored her with my CTMH markers and added some pretty little posies. You know these delicious bakers have links on the side bar. Be sure to visit their in their kitchen to see what they are cooking up. I can't wait to see your flower projects.

This last one is my weekly project for Frosted Designs. This week we asking you to use embossing on your project. You can dry emboss or pull out the trusty heat gun. I chose to do both. I used the dvine cuttlebug folder on the inner white cardstock circle. I highlighted it with ink and glimmer mist. Then I used the second generation technique to stamp the lips, this gave them a lighter color than the liner. I used clear embossing over them to give a "glossy" effect. You know I've got the fabby Frosted Designers linked up in my side bar. They've got inspiration galore for you today. Be sure to give them some love. I know I'll find inspiration from your creations too!

Good Morning,
First, I want to extend a HUGE Thank You to everyone who participated in our Practical Scrappers Blog Hop weekend! We had so much fun, there were so many wonderful prizes, and it was fab reading everyone's comments. I need to announce my winner. I still do not know how to copy and paste the random.org box...but anyways, I had 54 comments and the number 26 was generated. So drumroll.....

How romantic! Your layout is fabulous, and I love seeing how happy the two of you make each other. Wonderful prize too! Good luck ladies.

Tanya, congratulations and email your addy to me. I'll get your album in the mail tomorrow morning!
Our top three this week was Debbie, Denise, and Karen. Congratulations ladies, your projects were fantastic. We had so many talented entries, thank you all for chosing to play with us! :)
Now, are you ready for another fun week at Practical Scrappers? This week we are having a pattern paper challenge. You need to use at least two different patterned papers. I chose to share this layout of my Ashlea and Jon-Christopher. These are Easter photos from almost three years ago. I used all Basic Grey papers, Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts embossed chipboard alphas and some ribbon from the stash. I used a big bloom to finish it off. This paper is so beautiful, you really need very little in the way of embellishments.

I did ink up the edges so the layers would be defined. But hey, if you are a regular here, you know I have a love affair with ink!
Now it's your turn to show us your creative use of patterned paper. The deadline to enter is Saturday at 5:00 ET and the prize is a gift certificate to JuJu Bees. Don't forget to check our the Monday side bar for Practical Scrappers, as my sisters have created some beautiful projects for your scrapping inspiration!
Blessings,

My Love....

Good Morning,
Thank you for stopping by my blog during the Practical Scrappers Designer Blog Hop! I'm so excited to be participating! Because I am such a "hopeless romantic", I have created this layout to share with you. This hop is all about the "love."

Here is a close up of the journaling. When Ben and I were married 13 years ago, our wedding vows were from the book of Ruth:16-17. I just thought that was the perfect touch for this page.

I'm giving away a 6 X 6 sweet romance album as a prize for the blog hop. All you have to do to qualify is become a follower here and leave a comment on this post. I will announce the winner on Monday, January 25th so make sure to check back in!

You should have arrived here from my amazingly, talented, scrapping sister, Kerri's blog. Your next stop is another of my amazingly, talented, scrapping sisters, Heidi. If this was your first stop, head over to Practical Scrappers to start at the beginning of the hop. The designers are giving away some great prizes - you don't want to miss your chance!
Thanks for joining us! I'm sure you'll find all the inspiration you need to create something you "love!"

beauty...

Good Morning,
My little "Dancing Queen" is performing again today, so I'll be trying to catch up on all my blogs this evening. I've had three super busy days at school and haven't been around. I'm looking forward to it tonight! I miss all my inspiration!

This has been a great week though, I was featured as top 3 at Tellen's Place for this card AND I just saw that I am top 3 at Saturday Spotlight for this layout!!! Yahoo!
At Practical Scrappers, we are now designing for the Friday Sketches. Our fabulous sketch designer, Ann Katrin, designed this sketch. I love it and knew I wanted to use it for one of Ashlea's dance comp. photos.

This photo was right after her team had accepted the Grand Prize trophy at the Jam Fest in August. I had to title the page "Beauty", look at that beautiful face and smile! I got to play with my new expression on this one too! Try out this great sketch and leave a link on Practical Scrappers!

Be Mine

Today is a brand new challenge day at Humble Pie too! This week we have a LOVE challenge too! You need to use red, white, pink and hearts on your project. Boy did I have fun with this one! This darling little image shows Miss Maggie getting her first sweetness! It just screams "Be Mine."
I've had these hearts from long ago. I thought they were just perfect for this darling little card. So now it's your turn to show us your creations!! Don't forget to visit the Baker's in my side bar. Oh, have they cooked up some sweetness for you! Leave them some love too!

Blessings,

dream...

Good Morning,
There sure is a lot going on for me today! First, it is Friday and the end of my first week back to school. I kind of got a little spoiled with two weeks of snow days!
Next up, today is my debut with Frosted Designs. Our new challenge this week is to use chipboard on your projects. I had just been itching to use my Felicity papers and this was the time! I scrapped my oldest nephew, Tyler. This was a photo shoot I bought for his senior year. He graduated in June. Doesn't he look like he's dreaming of the possibilities for his future? I used matching ink to ink up my chipboard letters. Then I stamped a flourish with embossing ink, added some clear powder, this was a very subtle way to dress up the title a little.
This paper is so pretty, I wanted to just let it do all the work, I added very few elements. I did
pull two corners back with a stamped flower and brad. I also stamped the same flower in the lower corner.
Now, you know I have links to my Fabby Frosted DT sisters in my side bar. Visit them for a cup of chipboard mojo and leave them some love!

To Everything There Is A Season...

Good Morning,
I hope everyone is having a good week. I've been back to school since Tuesday, the first time since December 18th!!! It's been a busy week. We've missed two weeks of instruction and trying to push it in. Whew.....I'm happy to be back with my kiddos though. So, if I'm not making a daily read on your blog, you'll understand why.

It is with a sad occasion that I share a card today. I was in a meeting with my Principal after school yesterday. He told me that he and his wife had found out they were having a second baby. They had kept it hush until Christmas. They shared the happy news with everyone then. On the Monday after Christmas, she lost the baby. I've known him for over 25 years. She was 10 weeks. I can't imagine what they are going through. My sister, the little kids mother, lost her first baby in 1996. She was 28 weeks. We had to go through birth and burial. That was the hardest thing I've ever faced. I had this card already made and this verse is always so comforting to me when my heart aches from loss.

I Love You...

Good Morning,
Today is Wednesday, and that is time for a new challenge for Penny's Challenges. Before I get to the challenge, thanks to all of you who played along in our chalk challenge. This week you need to use inchies on your project. I kind of struggled with this one. I was so focused on the image being an inchie. Then I remembered this punch by Creative Memories and it all fell together. This is a very simple card, but I love it! Don't forget to visit my team sisters and leave them some love. Their links are in my side bar. You are certain to find inspiration once you arrive! I hope you'll play along with us!

Aw, Thaks Sandi

Good Morning,
I don't have anything scrappy to share this morning. I've been working but it can't be revealed yet. I spent all evening redoing my blog. Whew!!!
My awesome friend, and fellow Practical Scrapper sister, Sandi, has passed this Sweet Friends award on to me. Sandi you are a constant source of inspiration for me! I love your style and your friendship! Right back at you and big hugs.

The rules for this one are to pass on to tree friends who blow you away with their creativity and then name ten things that knock my socks off. Oh how difficult to just choose three! I'm truly inspired by every bog I read! So here are the three for this award Brenda, Mona, and Laurel.

Now on to the 10 things that knock my socks off:

1. God and His glory. He provides for me in all ways and he is my source of strength and inspiration.

2. My family. I'm so lucky to have my 83 year old Granny, my Honeybee, and all my nieces and nephews. My family is my life! I love you all!

3. My friends, I have a mass amount off friends in my circle. Those I see and those of you in blog land. Each of you are so very special to me and I cherish our friendships!

4. Coffee, I love my coffee and latte's! I'm having some french vanilla as we speak.

5. My favorite thing in the world to watch my Ashlea dance! Baby girl you have a talent that God has blessed you with, "Dance like no one is watching!"

6. I love how excited Jon-Christopher gets when he is spending time any of us fishing, playing games, or watching movies.

7. The excitement of my kids learning new things, and being able to teach them in a fun way!

8. I love the freedom that I have and remember where it comes from everyday, thank you soldiers!

9. I'm so happy staying at home in my pj's and blogging.

10. Tybee Island and Savannah Georgia are my all time favorite places to visit to just unwind and breathe.

Winter Song and a Woot Toot!

Good Morning,
Good news, I am now a proud designer for Frosted Designs! Yippee, I'm so excited to be working with these awesome ladies!
Now, for some more good news, and lots of winners over at Practical Scrappers! We have some awesome things to talk about! Congratulations to the always stunning, Fern for winning the bling challenge. Our top three are Jayma, Clare, and Mandy. Thanks to you all for playing! And if that isn't enough, we had 76 entries, Terry was our winner of a second prize pack! go Terry!!!! Don't forget, the DESIGN TEAM call is still open until Wednesday, January 20th.
Thanks to ALL of YOU for helping us grow and inspire!
It is time for a new challenge at Practical Scrappers. This week we are featuring embossing, any kind of embossing. I had this gorgeous Bo Bunny Serenade paper and lots of snow photos, so I did a snowy layout.
I embossed the all the snowflakes and the title. The embossing is difficult to see on the snowflakes. I tried to zoom in close. I spritzed them with pearl glimmer mist to add some shine and hopefully allow the dimension to be visible. They were cut with the Christmas Solutions cart.

I cut the title with my Storybook title and spritzed them with glimmer mist too.
I hope you are inspired to create along with us this week. Don't forget, I have a Monday link in my side bar to check out the always incredible dt sister's creations. Leave them some love!
